Well today the twins and I made a trip to our pedi for a sick baby visit. They both have severe viral infections. Congested, labored breathing, snotty noses, no fevers though. They swabbed their sinus cavities and we are just waiting for final results on RSV, and 9 other common infant infections.
Gavin weighed in today at 9lbs 13oz and Gabe at 9lb 8oz. They don't feel like tiny babies anymore! :) they have also gone up in feedings and have been eating 3-3.5oz every 2-4 hours. They pretty much make their own schedule.
They haven't been eating or feeling well though :/ Gavin sounds like an emphysema patient trying to cough and breath it is just so sad. His little cough and congestion is so horrible he can't even cry. It's this voiceless red faces squeal. Gabe has it the best out of all three. Gavin is by far the worst :( then Ethan comes in second with his dry raspy cough, which keeps him up and is definitely worse when he naps.
We always seem to get sick when we are around other sick little ones and big people whether they are -not contagious- or medicated. No more of that. My little guys have definitely proven to me that the NICU doctors and their pediatrician a were right when they told us the twins were basically born with no immune system at 30 weeks old.
I just cannot get over how big we are getting! :) in just three week they have gained 2+lbs! The nurses said they don't even look like the same babies. They have these new full bellys and chubby little cheeks!
We've all been sleeping better since we side carred our crib. The idea never occurred to me with Ethan but it would have been perfect when he was a baby. After doing much research we did it. We after all had all the requirements and necessary tools. 1)crib stable with only three sides/a crib that coverts to a toddler bed 2)something to secure the crib to the bed frame and 3)a power drill to adjust the mattress height flush with ours. So now our super super king size bed fits all 5 of us :) Gavin and Gabe sleep together in the crib in their respective swaddle sacks then mama followed by Ethan and daddy. SO CONVENIENT for nighttime feedings and the best option for us cosleeping wise. Tim and I really enjoy attachment parenting.
Well that's all for now. It's 12:36am. Ethan went to bed at 7:15p tonight because he hasn't slept but 10 minutes during his nap before he coughing woke him up. He just waddled into the living room asking for a snack lol he definitely knows what he wants! He's growing to be such an independent little guy, even if he still cuddles his mommy and daddy all night long :)
